How to Use the POS Lite

With POS Lite, you can quickly and easily record sales in your physical retail store. The following steps show you how to proceed.

Terminals represent individual cash registers within a physical store location. For example, if the Berlin branch is set up as a store, terminals like “Register 1” and “Register 2” can be added. For another branch, such as Hamburg, a separate physical store needs to be created. The names of the created terminals can be edited later.

How to Record a Sale:

  1. Log in to the ikas Dashboard:

Sign in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. Open the POS:

Click on the POS Sales Channel in the left menu.

  3. Open the POS Page:

Click the Go To the POS page button in the General section to access your terminal.

  4. Select the Terminal:

Choose the terminal you want to work with.

  5. Open the Cash Register and Enter the Starting Cash Amount:

    • Enter the cash amount at the beginning of your shift and open the cash register.
    • When a terminal is selected and opened, the products from the defined stock location will be listed.
  6. Add or Scan Products:

    • Add products to the shopping cart via drag & drop or use the barcode mode to scan them.

Note: Activate the barcode mode using the corresponding icon to scan multiple products quickly in succession. The lamp button acts as a trigger that can be activated as needed.

    • Alternatively, products can also be searched by name, barcode, or SKU number.

If a product is not displayed, this may be due to one of the following reasons:

      • The physical sales channel is not active.
      • The product is out of stock and the “Hide out-of-stock products” setting is enabled.
      • The product is not included in the selected price list.
    • You can view product details by clicking the top right corner of a product.

      Product details include:

      • Brand and category
      • Description
      • Tags
      • Variants and prices
      • Stock level
  7. Select Employee (Optional):

Choose the responsible person if this is part of your setup.

  8. Add Customer (Optional):

Assign the sale to an existing or new customer, for example, to apply discounts or for customer loyalty.

    • Customers can be added after the shopping cart is created.
    • Choose either a person already registered in the system or create a new customer record.
  9. Select Dicsount (Optional):

Select an available offer if there are discounts or special bundles.

  10. Add Customer Note (Optional):

Add a note to the order — e.g., for special requests or pickup instructions.

  11. Empty Shopping Cart (Optional):

Clear the shopping cart if the process is canceled or restarted.

  12. Complete Payment:

    • Use the Quick Checkout ⚡️ function to select a payment method directly and complete the sale quickly.

    • For more detailed settings, use the Checkout button to combine multiple payment methods, for example.

Example: An amount of €49.90 can be paid with €25.00 in cash and €24.90 by card.
