How to Set Up and Use the Sendcloud App

Want to automate your shipping process using Sendcloud? This guide walks you through integrating the Sendcloud app into your ikas store in just a few simple steps.

Preparing in the Sendcloud Portal

Before getting started in ikas, gather the necessary credentials for the app setup:

  1. Log in to your Sendcloud dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Click Sendcloud API > Connect.
  4. Enter a name for the API, e.g. "ikas", and click Save.
  5. Copy the two generated keys:
    • Public Key = API KEY
    • Secret Key = SECRET KEY

Installing the Sendcloud App

  1. In your ikas dashboard, go to Apps > App Store and install the Sendcloud App.
  2. After installation, you’ll find the app under Apps > My Apps.
  3. Open the app and paste the copied API credentials from your Sendcloud dashboard.

Adjusting General Settings in the App

Configure the basic settings in the Sendcloud app to match your shipping process:

  • Default Weight (kg): Used when a product has no weight defined. Unit must be in kilograms (kg).
  • Sender Address: Choose from one of the saved addresses in Sendcloud.
  • Automatic Label Generation: Enable this to create shipping labels automatically based on order status.
  • Notification on Label Generation: Automatically notify the customer once the tracking number has been generated.
  • Notification on Shipment/Delivery: Notify customers when their order has been shipped or delivered.
  • Default Shipping Provider & Method: Select your preferred shipping carrier and method.
  • Automatic Transmission by Sales Channel: Define for each sales channel which orders should be automatically sent to Sendcloud.
  • Save: Don’t forget to save your changes.

Creating Shipping Labels

Once the app is set up, you can generate shipping labels with just a few clicks—either automatically or manually:

  • Automatically: Orders are sent to Sendcloud based on your configuration.
  • Manually: Open the order in ikas and click "..." > Send to Sendcloud in the top-right corner.
  • Download Label:
    • Directly in the order under the Timeline section, or
    • In the Sendcloud Dashboard under Shipping > Incoming Orders.

Package Cancellation & Refunds

The Sendcloud integration also ensures smooth handling of cancellations and refunds:

  • Cancellation: When you cancel a package in ikas, a cancellation request is automatically sent to Sendcloud.
  • Refunds: Refund processes are handled separately in ikas and Sendcloud.

Managing Sender Addresses in Sendcloud

You can add new sender addresses directly in the Sendcloud dashboard under Settings > Shipping > Addresses.
