What is the Facebook Pixel and how is it connected to ikas?

The Facebook Pixel helps you track the behavior of your website visitors and target your advertising precisely. Here you will learn how to set it up and integrate it with ikas.

What is the Purpose of the Facebook Pixel? 

The Facebook Pixel assists you in analyzing the behavior of your website visitors and running targeted ads.
Example: Show ads only to people who added a product to their cart within the last 14 days — or promote products that match their previous behavior. This effectively increases your website traffic and conversion rates.


How to Set Up the Facebook Pixel?

  1. Open the Facebook/Meta Events Manager.

  2. Click on Connect Data and select Web.

  3. Give your Pixel a name and click Create.

  4. You can close the window for entering the website URL.

Insert Pixel ID in ikas

  1. Copy the Dataset ID from the Events Manager under your Pixel settings.

  2. Open the ikas Dashboard.

  3. Navigate to Sales Channel > Extensions.

  4. Under Web Analytics & Tracking Tools, click Facebook Pixel Code > Connect.

  5. Paste the Dataset ID and save.


Add Access Token for Conversions API

  1. In the Meta Events Manager, go to Settings > Conversions API.

  2. Click Generate Access Token and copy it.

  3. Return to ikas > Sales Channel > Extensions.

  4. Under Web Analytics & Tracking Tools, find Facebook Conversion API.

  5. Click Connect, paste the token, and save.


Final settings in the Events Manager

  • Automatic Website Matching
    → Make sure this option is enabled.

  • Track Events Automatically Without Code
    → This option should be disabled.

  • Set Up Traffic Permissions (“Allowed Domains”)
    → Enter your domain under Create Allowlist.
    This prevents the Pixel from collecting data from third-party websites.
