What is Google Tag Manager used for?
Google Tag Manager lets you centrally manage all your tracking codes through a single interface—without needing access to your website’s source code. This allows you to flexibly add or change tools without making technical adjustments to your ikas store.
Example: Want to use a new marketing tool? Simply add its code in GTM—no coding skills required.
How to set up Google Tag Manager

Go to Google Tag Manager.
- Create a new account.
→ Enter your brand name as the account name.
→ Enter your domain as the container name.
→ Choose Web as the platform. -
Click Create and accept the terms of service.

You can close the installation instructions—you don’t need them.

Copy the container ID, which starts with GTM- (e.g., GTM-XXXXXXX).
Add the container ID to ikas

Open your ikas dashboard.

Go to Sales Channel > Extensions.

Under Web Analytics & Tracking Tools > Google Tag Manager, click Connect, paste your container ID, and save.
What happens next?
Once the integration is complete, you can manage all your tags directly from Google Tag Manager—no further changes in ikas are required. This keeps your store flexible, clean, and future-proof.
