How to Set Up the POS Lite

Adding POS Lite

Follow these steps to add a POS Lite sales channel:

  1. Log in to your ikas Dashboard:

    Sign in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. Create a New Sales Channel:

    • Click the plus icon (+) next to Sales Channels in the left menu.
    • Select POS (Point of Sale) as the new sales channel.

    ⚠️ Note: POS Lite is only available with the All-in-One plan or must be purchased separately.

  3. Configure the POS Lite:

    Fill in the required information to create the POS Lite:

    • Shop Name: Assign a unique name for the POS location or physical store (e.g. "Berlin Store").

      ⚠️ Note: Once registered, the shop name cannot be changed in the system.

    • Address: Enter the physical address where the POS will be used.

  4. Save your Changes:

    Click Save to add the new sales channel.

Setting up the POS Lite

  1. Configure Payment Methods:

    • Click the Add Payment Method button to create new payment options.

    • By default, Cash and Credit Card are available.

    • You can also add custom payment methods such as check or payment on account.

    • Optionally, set a minimum and maximum order amount for each method.

    • Save your changes.

    • Payment methods can be deactivated or deleted as needed.

      ⚠️ Important: If a payment method is deleted, orders previously completed with it can no longer be refunded.

  2. Adjust General Settings:

    • PIN Requirement: Define whether staff must log in using a personal PIN (mandatory or optional).
    • Customer Requirement: Set whether customer details must be entered when creating an order (mandatory or optional).
    • Hide Out-of-Stock Products: Control whether products with no stock are hidden from the POS screen.
    • Continue to Sell Out-of-Stock Products: Decide whether items can be sold even if they are out of stock.
  3. Select a Stock Location:

    Choose the stock location from which inventory will be deducted during POS sales.

    Note: Choosing the correct stock location is essential for accurate inventory tracking.

  4. Set a Price List:

    Choose the price list and currency that apply to POS transactions.

  5. Add Terminals:

    Edit the names of existing terminals or add new ones to use POS on specific devices or locations.

  6. Save Your Configuration:

    Don’t forget to click Save to apply all your settings.
