How to Set the Unit Price for a Product

To set the base price of a product, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the ikas Dashboard:

    Sign in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Products:

    In the left menu, click on the Products tab and select Products.

  3. Select a Product:

    Find the product you want to edit and click on it to open the product detail page.

  4. Set the Selling Price:

    Make sure a sales price is entered under General Information for the product.

  5. Enable Unit Price:

    Below the selling price, tick the checkbox Display unit price for this product.

  6. Define the Base Price:

    Additional input fields will appear. Fill them out as follows:

    • Unit of Measurement: Enter the unit in which the base price is calculated (e.g., 1 liter, 1000 kilograms).
    • Sold Quantity: Enter the quantity and unit of the product being sold that the selling price refers to (e.g., 250 milliliters, 100 grams).

    The base price will be calculated automatically based on your input.

  7. Save:

    Don’t forget to save your changes.

Setting the Base Price for Product Variants

If your product has variants, you can set an individual base price for each variant. Here's how:

  1. Open the Product Detail Page:

    Follow steps 1–3 above to open the product detail page.

  2. Enable Unit Price:

    Under General Information, check the box Display unit price for this product.

    An additional input field will appear. Fill it out as follows:

    • Unit of Measurement: Enter the unit in which the base price is calculated (e.g., 1 liter, 1000 kilograms).
  3. Set the Sales Price:

    Scroll to the Variants section of the product detail page. First, make sure the selling price is entered for the relevant variant.

  4. Define the Unit Price for Variants:

    Then fill out the following fields:

    • Sold Quantity: Enter the quantity and unit of the product being sold that the selling price refers to (e.g., 250 milliliters, 100 grams).

    The base price will be calculated automatically based on your input.

  5. Save:

    Don’t forget to save your changes.

Note: When entering the unit of measurement and the sold quantity, you will see two fields:

  • The left field is for entering the quantity as a number.
  • The right field is a dropdown menu where you can select the appropriate unit. If the unit you need is not available, you can add a new unit. Learn how to do that here.
