      How to Edit the Template for Meta Titles and Descriptions

      What Are Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions?

      The meta title (title tag) and meta description are essential SEO elements that appear in search engine results. They have a major impact on your website’s visibility and can significantly improve your click-through rate (CTR).

      The meta title appears as a clickable link in search results and helps both search engines and users understand the content of your page at a glance. A well-optimized meta title with relevant keywords can improve your ranking in search results and drive more traffic to your website.

      The meta description offers a brief summary of your page content and is displayed right beneath the meta title. It should be written in a convincing way, include relevant information, and offer clear value to users. A compelling meta description can increase the chances of users clicking on your search result.

      Edit the Template

      To edit the template for your meta titles and descriptions, follow these steps:

      1. Log in to Your ikas Dashboard:

        Sign in to your ikas Dashboard.

      2. Go to SEO & Domain:

        In the left-hand menu, click on your Sales Channel B2C > SEO & Domain.

      3. Edit Meta Title and Description Templates:

        • In the Meta Title and Description Templates section, click Edit Templates on the right.
        • If your website operates in multiple languages, you can select the language from the tab at the top.
        • The templates can be customized individually for different SEO areas:
          • Products
          • Brands
          • Categories
          • Blog
          • Blog Categories
        • If the input fields are left empty, the default template will be used:
          • Meta Title: Taken from the original title.
          • Meta Description: Automatically generated from the original description.
        • Below the input fields, you’ll find various variables that you can easily insert into your template by clicking on them.
        • On the right, you’ll see a preview where your changes are displayed immediately.

      4. Save:

        Click Save to apply your changes.
