How to add "Pay on Delivery (Credit Card)" as a payment method?

With the payment method Pay on Delivery (Credit Card), your customers pay the invoice amount directly to the shipping carrier by credit card upon delivery. Here’s how to set up this option in the ikas dashboard.

To activate the payment method Pay on Delivery (Credit Card) in your ikas dashboard, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the ikas dashboard:
   Log in to your ikas dashboard.

2. Open the sales channel:
   Navigate to the desired sales channel in the left menu.

   

3. Open payment settings:
   Click on the Payment Settings tab within the sales channel.

   

4. Add payment method:
   Click Add Payment Method at the top right and select Pay on Delivery (Credit Card) from the list.

   
   

5. Enter name and description:
   Assign a name to the payment method that will be shown at checkout.
   In the description field, optionally add instructions about the COD payment process, for example:

   Example description:
   
   Payment is made directly to the courier by credit card upon delivery.
   
   Please have your credit card ready at delivery.

   

6. Set restrictions (optional):
   Set a minimum or maximum order value for which this payment method should be available.

   

7. Save:
   Click Save. The payment method will now appear under Sales Channel > Payment Settings.

   
8. Set order price adjustment (optional):
   If you want to charge an additional fee (e.g., a COD fee) for this method:
   Select Add to the order price, enter an amount in % or €, and click Save.
   
9. Deactivate or delete payment method (optional):
   If you want to temporarily deactivate the payment method, click IMake Passive at the top right to disable it.
   To remove the payment method completely, you can delete it via the three-dot menu (…) at the top right.
10. Restrict payment method to certain countries (optional):
    If you want to offer the payment method only in specific countries, go back to the payment methods list.
    Click Edit Active Countries and select the countries where the payment method should be available.

How does the payment process work?

1. Customer chooses Pay on Delivery (Credit Card):
   At checkout, the customer selects Pay on Delivery (Credit Card) as payment method.
2. Order status changes to “Awaiting Payment”:
   The order is marked accordingly in the system.
3. Ship via Pay on Delivery (Credit Card) and confirm payment:
   You ship the order with a carrier offering COD by credit card. The customer pays with their credit card upon receipt. Once the payment has been transmitted to you by the carrier, open the relevant order under Orders > Orders and manually approve the payment in the Transactions section on the right.
4. Status is updated:
   The order status changes to Payment Received.
