Sell internationally and reach customers all around the world. With ikas, you can create country-specific websites and display your products in the right language and currency.
What Is Localization?
Localization is a feature that allows you to adapt your online store to the country or region where you want to sell. With localization, you can create different currencies, languages, and designs for each country or region.
Setting Up Localization
To configure your localization settings and define in which regions, languages, and currencies you want to sell, please follow these steps:
-
Log in to the ikas Dashboard:
Sign in to your ikas dashboard.
-
Access Localization:
In the left-hand menu, click on Sales Channel B2C > Localization.
-
Add a New Region:
Click on Add New Region in the upper-right corner.
-
Configure Localization:
- Region: Select the countries where this localization should apply.
- Language: Choose the language supported for the selected region — this will be the language customers from the selected countries will see in your store.
- Price List: Select the price list that should be used as the basis for pricing in this localization.
Note: You can set up a separate localization for each country or combine multiple countries into a single localization.
-
Set Routes (optional):
Routes help display the appropriate version of your website to users based on their language or region. They’re especially useful if you run a multilingual website, as they improve both user experience and SEO.
- Path: Enter the specific URL extension for this localization, e.g. ikas.com/de.
-
Enable Dynamic Pricing (optional):
With dynamic pricing, you can display prices based on the selected price list or — if no price list is available for a specific region — automatically convert prices from your base currency into the desired target currency.
- Target Currency: Select the currency to which the prices should be converted.
- Price Rounding: Define the rounding rule to determine how prices will be displayed after conversion.
Note: If you don’t want to create a specific price list for a region, you can simply set up a localization with dynamic pricing. In this case, prices will be calculated based on the current exchange rate from your base currency.
-
Save:
Click Save to apply your localization settings.
-
Google Merchant Center / Facebook Commerce Manager (optional):
After saving, you can also copy the links for the Google Merchant Center and Facebook Commerce Manager on this page to update your product feeds.
Note: If multiple countries use the same language, price list, and currency, no separate route is necessary — a single setting will be sufficient. However, if a country should offer multiple languages, you’ll need to create a localization setting for each language. The affected countries must be included in each language variant.
