How to Manage Customer Attributes

Customize your customer registration process by adding extra attributes tailored to your business needs.

If you want to add extra customer attributes to your registration page — for example, to collect details like birthday, favorite team, or other custom information — follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your ikas Dashboard:

    Sign in to your ikas Dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings:

    In the left-hand menu, click on Settings and select Customer Custom Fields.

  3. Create a New Customer Attribute:

    Click the Add New Attribute button in the top-right corner.

  4. Set Up the Customer Attribute:

    • Name: Enter a name for your customer attribute. This will be visible to your customers (e.g. “Birthday”, “Favorite Team”).

    • Type: Choose the type of input for the attribute.

      For example:

      • For a birthday, select Date.
      • For a favorite team, choose either Single Selection or Text Field.

      Note: For the types Single Selection and Multiple Selection, you can enter predefined option values. Press the Enter key after each entry to confirm the value. You can arrange the options in your preferred order using drag and drop.

  5. Configure Sales Channels and Visibility:

    Select and activate the sales channels where this attribute should be used. Then, define how it will behave on those channels:

    • Registration Page View: Decide if the attribute should be hidden, optional, or required for customers.
    • Read & Write Permissions: Define whether the customer can not see, only view, or also edit this attribute.
  6. Save Changes:

    Click Save to apply your changes.

With these steps, you can collect custom details from your customers, customize your registration form to fit your needs, and enhance the overall user experience.

Sort Customer Attributes

If you’ve added multiple customer attributes and want to reorder them, click the Sort button in the top-right corner and arrange them via drag-and-drop.
