How to Create an Automated Product Group

In automated product groups, products are automatically assigned to a group based on specific conditions. These product groups can be created in two ways:

Please note that the product group feature is only available in the All-in-One package.

Create an Automated Product Group via Attributes

  1. Log in to the ikas Dashboard:

    Sign in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. Access Attributes:

    In the left menu, click on Products > Definitions and select Custom Fields.

  3. Add Attributes:

    Click on Add New Attribute and create two new attribute:

    • First Attribute: Choose the type Text and save. (This property remains invisible to customers.)
    • Second Attribute: Choose the type Choice, add variants, and confirm by pressing Enter. (This name will be displayed to customers as the variant type.)

  4. Edit Products:

    • Go to Products > Products.
    • Open the respective products and add the created attributes.
    • Enter the same value in the Text Line for all relevant products. Products with this attribute will be grouped automatically.
    • Select the appropriate variants for each product in the Single Selection.
    • Save your changes.
  5. Create Product Group:

    • Navigate to Products > Definitions > Product Groups.

    • Click on Add Product Group and choose Add Automatic.

  6. Fill in the Fields:

    • Group Name: Give your product group a suitable name.
    • Custom Field: Choose the previously created Text Line as the grouping feature.
    • Add Sorting Attribute: If desired, you can enable sorting by attribute.
  7. Choose Group Type:

    • Choose Group by Attribute.
    • Select the created Choice attribute.
  8. Save:

    Click on Save to secure the product group.

Create an Automated Product Group via Attributes and Variants

  1. Log in to the ikas Dashboard:

    Sign in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. Access Attributes:

    In the left menu, click on Products > Definitions and select Custom Fields.

  3. Add Attributes:

    • Click on the Add Attribute button.
    • Choose the type Text and save. (This property remains invisible to customers.)
  4. Edit Products:

    • Go to Products > Products.
    • Open the respective products and add the created attribute.
    • Enter the same value in the Text Line for all relevant products. Products with this attribute will be grouped automatically.
    • Save your changes.
  5. Add Variants:

    • Add a variant with the same variant type to each product.
    • Assign a value to each variant and save.
  6. Create Product Group:

    • Navigate to Products > Definitions > Product Groups.

    • Click on Add Product Group and choose Add Automatic.

  7. Fill in the Fields:

    • Group Name: Give your product group a suitable name.
    • Property: Choose the previously created Text Line as the grouping feature.
    • Add Sorting Attribute: If desired, you can enable sorting by attribute.
  8. Choose Group Type:

    Choose Group by Variants.

  9. Save:

    Click on Save to secure the product group.

Note: Before creating the product groups, ensure that all products are already created and the attributes and variants are correctly configured.
