Example Application: Different Tax Rates

All products should be taxed at 19%, except for products that are tagged with '7% Tax'. These should be taxed at only 7%, e.g., basic foodstuffs.

  1. Create the Tag:
    • Click on Products > Products in the left menu and select Tags.
    • Add a new tag and name it, e.g., '7% Tax'.
  2. Assign the Tag to Products:
    • Go to Products > Products.
    • Open the products that should have the 7% tax rate and assign the created '7% Tax' tag to these products.
    • To assign the '7% Tax' tag to multiple products at once, select the products you want to update and use the operation options to apply the tag to all selected products. Learn more here.
  3. Adjust Tax Settings:
    • Go to the Settings tab and select Tax Settings and choose the relevant tax zone, in this case, Germany.
    • Ensure the standard tax rate of 19% is listed under Country Tax.
    • Under Product Overrides, click on + Add Overrides.
    • In the new window, select the previously created '7% Tax' tag and enter the 7% tax rate.
    • Don’t forget to save your changes.

Note: There is a difference between Product Tags and Order Tags. Order Tags are used to organize orders, while Product Tags are used to categorize products.
