How to Set Up and Use the Printful App

You’ve decided to sell personalized products but don’t want to handle the fulfillment yourself? Then use Printful — a free integration is available for this in the ikas App Store.

The app enables the following workflows:

  • Products can be imported from Printful to ikas.

  • Orders are automatically forwarded to Printful.

 

Install the Printful App and Establish the Connection

  1. Log in to your ikas dashboard.

  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Apps > App Store.

  3. Search for Printful and install the app.

  4. After installation, you’ll find the app under Apps > My Apps.

  5. Open the app and go to the Settings tab.

  6. Click the Connect with Printful button.

  7. Log in to your Printful account and grant the required permissions.

Once authorization is complete, the connection is active.

 

Import Products from Printful

Before importing products, you must first create and configure them in your Printful account.

  1. Return to the Printful app in ikas.

  2. Go again to the Settings tab.

  3. If needed, enable the option Transfer order as draft if you want to manually confirm orders in Printful first.

  4. Click the button Sync Printful Products to ikas.

  5. The products will now appear in ikas under Products > Products.

 

Notes on Product Import

Please pay attention to the following when importing products:

  • Avoid using identical product names.

  • For products with variants, the product name is taken up to the hyphen "-", and the variants follow separated by slashes "/".

Example:
Cap / Smiley - Black / S

→ Product name: Cap / Smiley
→ Variants: Black / S

  • The number of variant combinations must be accurate.

Example:

  • Colors: Black, White (2)
  • Sizes: S, M, L (3)
    → You must have 2 × 3 = 6 variants: 

- Cap / Smiley - Black / S
- Cap / Smiley - Black / M
- Cap / Smiley - Black / L
- Cap / Smiley - White / S
- Cap / Smiley - White / M
- Cap / Smiley - White / L

Important: Products are transferred from Printful to ikas, but changes or deletions made in Printful are not reflected in ikas.

Technical Workflow of Order Processing

  1. Products are imported from Printful to ikas.

  2. When an order is placed in ikas, it is automatically forwarded to Printful.

  3. Printful produces and ships the product.

  4. The order status in ikas is automatically updated (e.g., to “Fulfilled”).
